PrimaLuceLab 104mm AIRY APO104T APO Refractor with Flattener

The AIRY APO104T apochromatic refractor with field flattener is a 104mm APO refractor telescope with a focal length of 650mm.  Designed with FPL-53 apochromatic optical glass in a 5 element design for clarity of image, excellent color and contrast.  This telescope includes a 2.7" Hybrid-Drive PrimaluceLab focuser, a 2" filter drawer and PLUS tube rings in a hard case.  Well suited to long exposure astrophotography and deep sky imaging thanks to the precision optics and dedicated removable 44mm field flattener that accommodates full frame imaging sensors.  The front two elements of the AIRY 104 are ED glass, image clarity, color, and contrast are refined.   Each AIRY telescope is fully collimated and optical tested before leaving PrimaLuceLab.

PrimaLuceLab 104mm AIRY APO104T Mechanical Design & Quality

Constructed and engineered to the highest standards, the AIRY APO104T has an aluminum optical tube precision CNC machined to be durable but lightweight.   Each component of the optical tube and focuser are made to the highest quality to ensure years of perfect performance and makes the AIRY telescope a pleasure to use.   The built-in dew shield can be collapsed for portability in the included aluminum hard case.  The tube is powdered finished in a durable pearl white matte finish and additional components are powder coated with a metallic satin red finish making a telescope that is as functional as it is beautiful.  

AIRY 104 5 Element Optical Design

AIRY APO104T uses a 5-elements optical design, a front triplet with 2 ED elements and a 2 element rear lens and was designed specifically for astrophotography performance with a large 44mm flat field.   Free from chromatic aberration, images are high in contrast and crisp for high-resolution enhanced detail.  Instead of the usual triplets that use one ED lens and two Crown glass lenses, the AIRY APO104T with field flattener uses 2 ED lenses (one FPL-53 and one FPL-51), an innovative solution that allows you to get an even better chromatic aberration correction. The result is a perfect image, without any aberration with the colors that reach perfectly the same point of focus.

PrimaLuceLab 2.7" Hybrid Drive Focuser & Flattener

The PrimaLuceLab 2.7" Hybrid Drive Focuser can be rotated 360 degrees allowing you to position your camera or diagonal at any angle preferred.  Thanks to PrimaLuceLab's extreme care in construction and design, the Hybrid-Drive focuser eliminates slippage commonly seen in Crayford focusers in long imaging sessions.  By combining a small rack and pinion with a Crayford style focuser the focuser can carry up to 17 pounds without issue.  This focuser has an 11:1 focus gear allowing both coarse and fine adjustment.  A locking screw will hold your camera securely in place.   Thanks to a long 95mm of focus travel, the AIRY 104T can be easily used for both imaging and observing.  The field flattener is threaded directly to the focus tube to provide a secure connection with no flexure.  With a 44mm diameter, the flattener accommodates a wide range of cameras including full frame sensors.  

PLUS PrimaLuce Lab Universal Adapter System

Included with the AIRY104T is a pair of PLUS compatible tube rings.  The PrimaLuce PLUS is a system of dovetails, saddles, rings and adapters designed to be fully compatible.  CNC machined from the same high quality aluminum used throughout the PrimaLuceLab product line and finished in satin red powder coat, these rings, bars and saddles will stand the test of time and are built to last a lifetime.  

4 years extended warranty and Q-certified controls

All PrimaLuceLab's AIRY apochromatic refractors are equipped with extended warranty, 4 years (instead of 2 of the most telescopes)! This way you will be sure not only to have a great product but also with quality that lasts over time! Each telescope is identified by a unique serial number which is also listed in the manual provided with the package.

They have developed Q-certified, a comprehensive control system that works out in their laboratory prior to shipment and delivery of the product you ordered. Before delivering the AIRY APO104T telescope the collimation and the perfect function is thoroughly tested through all mechanical components.
